Welcome to our friends, family and collectors of Kenny Irwin Jr. to the preview of Recycled Media; Irwin's newest body of work being premiered in Los Angeles, CA. Libations and hor d'oeuvres will be served.
About RECYCLED MEDIA
In a day and age where all of our favorite shows and films are being recycled, but not our waste, this solo exhibit at the REN Gallery will display the disparity that we are putting our planet and generations to come in. The exhibit titled, “Recycled Media”, will include original artworks from Southern California born and based artist, Kenny Irwin Jr., and is a parody of the “recycle culture” (or lack thereof) in our current fast paced lives of today and tomorrow.

Recycled Media” can be described as a mixture of childhood favorites, from Storm Troopers to dragons, dinosaurs, and everything mystical and magical in between, all from recycled materials. Mixing the entertainment world, which is a part of our daily consumption, and our daily necessities that tend to be poorly recycled and inevitably end up in a growing nearby landfill. Irwin has been using recycled materials in his artwork on small to large scale, with his most notable immersive art experience residing in Palm Springs’ Movie Colony famously known as “Robolights”.
REN Gallery founder Renee Warren describes this as the perfect partnership for her new reopening on Earth Day, going on to say, “We chose this day intentionally as Irwin's work incorporates materials in his assemblages that are massively consumed, media generated, and often quickly discarded. Irwin has masterfully integrated these excess materials into art.”
Drawing on their varied background in comprehensive events, every logistical detail of Kenny Irwin Jr.’s “Recycled Media” exhibition has been meticulously planned, ensuring a smooth and safe experience for visitors. Required for entrance will be proof of vaccination card or a negative COVID test in the past 48 hours.
Beginning on 4/22/22, take a step into an alternative reality through experiencing the magical, mystical world of Kenny Irwin Jr.
About KENNY IRWIN JR.
Kenny Irwin Jr. is a Southern Californian native, residing in Palm Springs, California. His art has been influenced by space exploration, environment issues and a search for man’s place in the universe. A consistent theme found in his work would be human relationships to material consumption and machines through solely using recycled materials. His finely detailed works are realized in multiple mediums ranging from installations to found art sculpture, drawings, ceramics and resin sculpture.
A graduate of California College of Art and Design in Oakland CA with a degree in Fine Arts, his lifelong art project, Robolights, has been a featured art installation in Palm Springs for over 20 years. His work has been showcased at MOCA Detroit (2019), The American VIsionary Art Museum (Baltimore, MD), the original Meow Wolf in Sante Fe, New Mexico. Additionally, he has been featured on the Conan O'Brien Show, ABC’s “Great Light Fight”, an upcoming Discovery+ series, as well as many international television shows. Irwin has been featured in multiple media publications such as the LA Times, NY Times, Huffington Post, CNN and most recently Juxtapoz magazine.
