About
Ren Gallery is pleased to announce its upcoming exhibition, "Dream State” with international artist Mikael B. The exhibition will feature multiple new works and limited edition prints. His new body of work, entitled "Dream State” is inspired by the dreams and visions that act as catalysts for Mikael B's abstract works. Seeking to capture the moment where we let go and enter a state where we can lose ourselves in pursuit of something new and positive, Mikael B's latest body of work "Dream State” allows us to disappear into ourselves and ponder the world that surrounds and inspires us.
In addition to the new works, there will also be a limited edition print run of "Hybrid World”, the most comprehensive world map from Mikael B. The contrasting color explosions and dynamic graphic elements combined with his characteristic typographic expression leads the eye across the form of a spectacularized colorful world. Abstract paintings and sculptures and limited edition prints from artists Allan Bestle, Taylor Bos, Clairfoster Josiah Browne, and Futura will also be featured in "Dream State".
"Dream State” coincides with World Art Day, established in 2012 on the 560th anniversary of Leonardo da Vinci's birthday. World Art Day aims to promote the values that art has brought to the world since the beginning of time by raising public awareness about the importance of creative activity worldwide. It will be celebrated by organizing indoor and outdoor exhibitions across all disciplines, and in nations such as Sweden, France, South Africa, Slovakia, Venezuela, and the United States. This year, Bedri Baykam, director of the IAA and Turkish artist, will be visiting Los Angeles for the World Art Day festivities here. The Downtown Art Walk Association has taken the lead, beginning with an opening gala on April 13th at the 8th and Hope building downtown, and ending with a closing reception at the Brewery on Sunday, April17th.
